Speaker 1:

So yesterday I had an interview with Mark Anthony and Mark is an incredible medium, a highly accomplished lawyer, probably the most knowledgeable person I know when it comes to mediumship and science and history and religion all combined, and I was really an honor to have him and I don't get to talk to people you know of that caliber or that stature much. So I have Mark on the program. So first of all I had an issue with the Zoom meeting. I had set up the meeting but I gave Mark a VIP pass because my calendar was full for the rest of the year and I wanted to get him in sooner. So I created a new appointment type to get him in sooner. But when I did that I forgot a step in setting up the new appointment type so he didn't get a Zoom link. So I sent him a Zoom link manually for my calendar and everything was all set.

Speaker 1:

Mark gets on the call and I always check to make sure it's recording and we get the notification. This meeting is being recorded and I see the recording light flashing the whole time. We're talking. Mark and I talked for probably an hour and a half or so and then we get to the end of the meeting and I go to stop the recording so we could say goodbye and hang up. And when I went to stop the recording I got that dreaded feeling, that pit in my stomach. Where I saw the record button was there not the stop record button. I had forgotten to record the Zoom meeting. So I mentioned this to Mark. I said I hope this recorded. And Mark said well, it did. We got the notification. We both heard it. It said this meeting is being recorded. Well, it turns out it's being recorded by my note taker, not by Zoom. So I don't have a recording from Zoom.

Speaker 1:

So I'm panicking and Mark's like I don't know if I can do that again, because we had a really great conversation. And I said well, I think I think in myself maybe I can salvage it. So I go to the website of the software that I use to take notes, and it's called readai, by the way, I don't get paid by them, but I do like it. So, but I'm on the free version and I just realized the free version doesn't provide me access to the video recordings. So when I look for the video recording, I see this thing that says you must be on the enterprise plan to get the recording. So I'm thinking again worst case, I'm not going to be able to get it because I'm not on the enterprise plan. It probably didn't record at all. So I contact support and support says that yes, if you pay the upgrade fee, if you get the enterprise plan, you can get the recording.

Speaker 1:

So, long story short, I got the recording and it's not the greatest quality but it was salvageable. So I get the recording and then I start looking around and I realized that it has some great features that I hadn't realized before, that it was provided me with a trailer, basically a highlight reel, all kinds of clips. And I've been looking for a package like this and I was really considering this other one for a long time. But I just had a feeling this doesn't seem quite right. It doesn't seem like it's quite the tool I want, even though it's pretty amazing. And I've been holding off because I was going to buy it for a year. So I had the intuitions like don't buy it for a year, just buy it for a month. So I bought it for a month that I've been using it. I'm like, yeah, it's okay, I'm still not sure it's the best thing.

Speaker 1:

And then I realized that this tool that I happened to discover because of this is, I think, the tool for me for to do this, and it's less expensive. So what's the point of this whole story? Well, the thing is, I always look now for what's the lesson in this, what's the benefit of this, or whatever happens. And I was panicked because I don't think I had this recording of Mark and it was a really great conversation and, as I said, he's not an easy guy to get on my program. So I was panicked because I didn't have it, but I stayed calm and I worked through the process and I found a way to salvage recording.

Speaker 1:

But not only that because of this mistake that I had made, because of these couple of mistakes I had made, it led me to find what I think is going to be a better tool for me going forward, a tool that I had been kind of playing around with, but I hadn't upgraded to the paid version, and I think it's going to be the best tool for me.

Speaker 1:

So the lesson I think in this is to again to stay calm when we are faced with adversity, to look for what good might come out of this, and first I'm thinking nothing good is going to come out of not hitting the record button and zoom. This has only happened to me twice in over 200 interviews where I forgot to hit the record button. That's why I set zoom up to record automatically now, so I'm going to leave it with that. I'd love to think here from you are there any times you've had times when something bad has happened and then you found something good, came out of it, and can you keep that perspective going forward when something that you don't like happens, looking for that silver lining? Thanks for listening, have a great day and thanks for your support.
